About
I am a PhD scholar in the Department of Biological Sciences and Bioengineering at Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur. I joined IIT Kanpur in August 2020 and was selected for prestigious Prime Minister's Research Fellowship in May, 2021 cycle. My thesis supervisor is Prof. Ashok Kumar and research focus of our lab (AK Biolabs) is to develop next generation biomaterials for tissue engineering, bioprocess engineering and regenerative medicine. I completed my M.Pharm from Delhi Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research University, New Delhi, and my B.Pharm from University of Kashmir, Srinagar.
Current Research Focus
We aim to design a stimuli-responsive smart cardiac patch delivering regenerative molecules for treatment of myocardial infarction. This formulation can be delivered through minimally invasive spraying and will form the cardiac patch in-situ. This novel strategy not only aims to promote cardiac regeneration by attenuating adverse cardiac remodeling but may also alleviate the complications of open heart surgery.
